Toolix is a set of 32 file tools. 25 of them (image compression and conversion, most PDF tools, converters, and utilities) process files entirely on your device, inside your browser. The file is never sent to any server — everything runs locally via JavaScript/WebAssembly.
7 tools — remove PDF password, protect PDF with a password, PDF to Word, PDF to Excel, spell check, My IP, and the speed test — talk to the api.toolixall.com backend. For four of them (PDF password removal/protection, PDF to Word, PDF to Excel), the file you upload is actually sent to the server. Spell check sends the text you typed. My IP and the speed test don't send any file at all — the server just answers a technical request (the speed test uses synthetic data to measure throughput; My IP simply reports the address the request came from).
Files sent to the server for processing (password tools, PDF to Word/Excel) are processed and deleted right after the result is sent back to your browser — they are not stored long-term. Every server-side tool is clearly marked with a "Processed on the server" badge on its own page.
Like any website, Toolix automatically receives some technical data with every request — IP address, browser user agent, the requested address, and the time of the request. This lands in standard infrastructure logs (hosting on Vercel, possibly a proxy or logging layer such as Caddy) and is used to keep the site running, debug issues, and guard against abuse.
If basic traffic analytics is enabled (for example, to see which tools are popular), it may collect similar technical data (IP, user agent, pages visited) in an anonymized or aggregated form.
Toolix plans to use Google AdSense to show ads. AdSense and related Google services may set cookies and use similar technologies in your browser to serve ads, including ads personalized based on your interests. You can read more about how Google handles data in Google's own privacy policy. If AdSense isn't active yet at the time of your visit, this part simply doesn't apply.
Files processed locally in the browser (25 of the 32 tools) never reach any server, so Toolix has no way to see, copy, or lose them. Files sent to api.toolixall.com for processing are deleted right after the server responds and aren't kept long-term.

We don't make formal legal claims of compliance with specific frameworks (like GDPR or CCPA) that haven't been independently verified — this page is a plain, honest description of how the service actually works, not a legal opinion.
